Canvas LMS
Canvas LMS at University of Technology |
By 2021/22, all staff delivering taught programmes at the University will use Canvas as their virtual learning environment or VLE.
As part of the final step in the phased move to the University’s new VLE, all modules will be delivered through Canvas from the start of the 2021/22 academic year in second semester. This applies to all taught programmes (UG and PG), online distance courses run by the University and courses offered by The Academy for staff and UoT centers.
Our vision for Canvas
Moving to Canvas is an opportunity to open up conversations around digital education and the role of the VLE at the University. It is an opportunity to empower programme teams to deliver rich, blended learning experiences for students using the array of new tools that Canvas provides. It is an opportunity for us to innovate current teaching practice, extend the digital capabilities of our staff and boost student digital fluency.
Canvas is the Learning Management System (LMS) used in all online and hybrid courses offered at Brookdale Community College. An LMS (Learning Management System) is a web-based system for managing course materials.
